RI`s Uber Cup team wins first victory

Macau (ANTARA News) - Indonesia′s women`s team chalked up their first victory in the Uber Cup Asian zone qualifying rounds after outclassing Sri Lanka 3-0.

Maria Febe Kusumastuti gave the Indonesian team their first victory after she defeated Renu Chandrika Hettiarachchige 21-14, 21-8 in the Group Y match against Sri Lanka at Macau Forum on Monday.

Linda Wenifanetri added to the Indonesian team`s 2-0 victory after defeating Thilini Pramodika Hendahewa 21-9, 21-8.

Indonesia surpassed Sri Lanka 3-0 after Greysia Polii, who teamed up with Meiliana Jauhari, beat the pair Renu Chandrika Hettiarachchige-Nadesha Gayanthi 21-16, 21-8.

Elsewhere in the Group Y match, the Thai team defeated Kazakhstan 4-0.
