Lake Toba Festival to Open December 27

This year’s Lake Toba Festival will take place between Dec. 27 – 30 in the Simalungun and Samosir regencies, North Sumatra.

The event will feature more than 20 traditional arts and cultural performances, the organizing committee chairman John Hugo Silalahi said in Medan on Wednesday, antaranews.com reported.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa is scheduled to open the festival in Parapat, Simalungun.

John said that an art camp would be the highlight of the event, which is expected to attract about 50,000 local and foreign tourists.
