Head of production statistics Baba Bugis said in Ternate on Thursday North Maluku`s exports in September 2011 reached 1,130.92 million tons, also a 223.37 pct increase compared to the August 2011 performance of 349.72 million tons.

He said the province`s export commodities in September 2011 included copra and nickel ore exported to the Philippines, China and Japan.

The nickel ore weighing 1,129.61 million tons had been exported to China and Japan worth US$ 53.46 million, copra 1.30 million tons only exported to the Philippines worth US$ 1.15 million.

The highest exports had been to China worth US$ 43.14 million with a market share of 78.99 pct, followed by Japan US$ 10.32 million with a market share of 18.90 pct, and the smallest the Philippines US$ 1.15 million with a market share of only 2.11 pct, Indonesia`s exports in September 2011 reached US$ 17.82 billion and in January to September were worth US$ 152,50 billion.

In the meantime, Baba said, North Maluku`s imports in September 2011 reached US$ 1.72 million, a 44.04 pct drop compared to US$ 3.07 million in July 2011.

"North Maluku`s imports in September 2011 reached 1.67 million tons, a 17.74 pct increase compared to the 1.42 million tons in July 2011," he said.

The province`s import commodities in September 2011 included high-speed diesel oil imported from Singapore worth US$ 1.72 million with a market share of 100 pct.

Indonesia`s imports, Baba said, in September 2011 reached US$ 15.10 billion, and in the January-September period reached US$ 129.97 billion.
