Presidential special aide for international affairs Teuku Faizasyah said at the Presidential Palace here on Friday, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the next G-20 Summit in Cannes, France, would present Indonesia`s views on energy cooperation.

"Our position in G-20 and APEC is more or less the same, and therefore we want to have cooperation in renewable energy with both G-20 and APEC member countries," Faizasyah said after accompanying the president to receive a number of foreign ambassadors who presented their credentials to the head of state.

He said Indonesia wanted to develop cooperation in renewable energy so that it could develop environmentally-friendly energy while at the same time continuing to spur economic growth.

"We want to cooperate with G-20 and APEC member countries to more extensively explore alternative energy potentials in Indonesia such as geothermal that we have in abundance," Faizasyah said.

He added that at the APEC meeting Indonesia was expected to speak specifically about energy issues because as a developing country its need for energy was increasing.

Faizasyah said President Yudhoyono would present Indonesia`s views on development and corruption eradication, in addition to energy issues.

He said President Yudhoyono would chair a meeting at the presidential office to discuss preparations for his presence at the G-20 Summit and APEC Summit, and preparations for the Sea Games.
