"We are expecting that the IPB Science Techno Park will emerge as the most productive and leading science techno park in tropical agriculture, foods and bioscience in Southeast Asia," he added.

The park has facilities such as laboratory tests, pilot plants and research for commercial product development.

The techno-park also serves as a start-up business incubator for technology and science, mediates between innovators and industries as well as develops human resources and provides solutions in the fields of tropical agriculture, foods and bioscience.

"IPB Science Techno Park accommodates creativity and innovation, involving academics and the business sector," Meika added.

He underlined that the park will result in economic benefits in the form of value-added products and job opportunities. It will also bring social and environmental advantages as it has edutainment facilities and green areas.

"The IPB Science Techno Park is a place for further research for applied innovations," Meika stated.

Some excellent products of IPB Science Techno Park are IPB 3S rice seeds that have a yield of 11 tons/hectare, rice analog for diabetics, Katulac (a feed supplement for dairy cows), Fastrex transporter used in plantation and forestry, corn noodles, Sormeal (a healthy cereal made of sorghum) and Rapid Test for Avian Influenza (a test kit to detect avian flu quickly).
