Indonesian Days and Charity Bazaar at the Millenáris Park

At 7-8 June 2013 the Millenáris Park of Budapest dressed up in balinese penjors, javanese parasols and ulos tapestries from North Sumatra. The whole area could smell the fragrance of exotic Indonesian food coming from the stand. The organizers, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Budapest and the Indonesian Trade Promotion center created truly Indonesian atmosphere for the two day event.

The program of the main stage included traditional Indonesian dances from all over the archipelago, cooking and batik demonstration, fashion shows and performances from the vocal group of the University of Indonesia and Hungarian artists like Ágnes Herczku and the Amadinda percussion group.

The center of the attention were the food stalls where the visitors tried nasi goreng, bakso soup, batagor, freshly made juices and other sweet delicacies.

Other stands offered Indonesian handicrafts, clothes, accessories, coffee (including the infamous luwak coffee), books, jewellery and more. 

The incomes of the Charity Bazaar were offered to the Reach Out Your Helping Hand Foundation, which is helping underprivileged people in Békés County.

Every customer of the fair received raffle tickets. The grand prize of the raffles were two trips to Indonesia, offered by Qatar Airways. were drawn before the closing of the event.
