Interfaith Summit 2012 in Bali

21 , 2012

The peaceful island of Bali, Indonesia will give place to an international Interfaith Summit between 5-7 October. The conference, organized by two Indonesian interfaith organizations takes the title of One Family under God: -New Interfaith Paradigm for the 21st Century. Participants are welcome from all over the world to join the discussion in Bali, where the organizers offer accommodation for them.

Our modern, globalized world poses severe challenges on the state and the individual level. While globalized nations often struggle to find consensus within their increasingly plural societies, the people living in this world find themselves more and more isolated in their lives because of decreasing amount and quality of direct social contact.

How can faith help the world resolving this tension?  The Organizers of the Interfaith Summit in Bali offer their vision to public discussion in the three day conference. The organizers, the Global Peace Festival Indonesian Foundation (GPFF) and the Indonesia Youth Forum (IYF)  say that by promoting the idea of a familial unity under God we get closer to solution. By realizing that all people are spiritual beings who share a common origin one can feel closer to the others. If we succeed to make this thinking the norm, we can achieve a truly global change that would end much of the conflicts that harden the life of billions all over the world.

The conference will take place in Wisma Werdhapura Hotel in the coastal area of Sanur, Denpasar. Participants are welcome to join after online registration. The registration form can be downloaded here. For further information, please visit http://www.gpfindonesia.org/
